This page is about the line itself, stations, structures and so forth.
The Port Erin Line
The last of the IMR and MNR lines still active is the 15 mile long Port Erin line running to the south of the island
Douglas
Since opening in 1873 Douglas has always been the focal point of the railway, housing workshops and offices for the line since the start. Although today Douglas is somewhat smaller than the original layout it remains the hub of the IMR

The Closed lines
The Peel Line
The first of the Manx lines, opened in 1873 from Douglas through Union Mills, Crosby and St Johns to Peel. The line was closed to passenger services in 1968 and is now a heritage footpath.
The Foxdale Line
The line was opened in 1886 by the MNR to connect with the Foxdale mines. Passenger working ceased in 1940 and regular freight a few years after. The last known engineering train on the line was in 1960. Again today it is a public footpath.
